"Depressive disorders occur twice as often in women compared with men"

Marlene Freeman, MD

Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard

During pregnancy, a lack of folic acid or ineffective folic acid metabolism increases the risk of neural tube defects (NTDs) and other birth defects in a woman’s developing baby. Problems with folic acid metabolism are also a known risk factor for depression and other adverse pregnancy outcomes.

EnBrace HR/MF contains a mix of bioactive folates and folic acid that works for all women -- even women whose bodies are unable to metabolize folic acid. This makes it the most effective prenatal vitamin for protection against NTDs and other birth defects. It has also been demonstrated in a recent clinical trial that EnBrace HR/MF is a safe and effective alternative option for the management of depression for women who are concerned about taking drug antidepressants during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.

Has been clinically shown to manage depression before, during, and after pregnancy as an alternative to drug antidepressants

Provides a diverse combination of folates, including L-methylfolate and folinic acid in addition to folic acid, to help lower the risk of neural tube defects and other birth defects

Reduces the risk for adverse pregnancy outcomes associated with certain maternal genetic mutations that affect folic acid metabolism
